Burned Bridges

This one’s about a situation that happened at about 1am while I was on vacation years ago. While drunk, I said something sarcastic to someone that was sober, and well…they basically disowned me from there forward. Frankly, they were more right than wrong, but at the time I thought it was unfair to unravel a years-long friendship over a comment made in jest while inebriated. I also thought that, you know, being on break was a pretty good time to let loose a little. Sue me.

Now…I might have their point wrong, but I think their side of it went something like…IT’S NOT JUST THAT ONE TIME!!! Something like that.☺

At its underlying core, this song is about picking alcohol over friendship. It’s a self-destructive song.

Of course, the irony is…this person drinks more than I do now. Such is life.

I took off “It Gets To Me.” As usual, let me know how this is all going at gregorsongs@gmail.com.
